America Ferrera Biography

America Georgine Ferrera is an American actress who made her name a household name with her role as the title character in the popular television series "Ugly Betty". Interested in acting since she was in high school, she performed in several school productions, and came to the forefront with her debut film "Real Women have Curves". Her performance in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" earned her greater attention, but she gained the most attention for her performance as the main character in the television series "Ugly Betty", which won numerous Best Actress Awards including the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Primetime Emmy Award. America Ferrera met her future husband actor and director Ryan Piers Williams, at the University of Southern California; she was cast in a film he was directing for his students. They were engaged in June of 2010, and got married June 27, 2011. They have two children: one of whom is named Sebastian (born in May 2018) and a daughter named Lucia (born May 4 2020). In a tweet, in October 2017, she revealed that she had been sexually assaulted as a nine-year-old. She called on fellow females to speak out so that the next generation of girls doesn't have to deal with this bullshit.
