Jacqueline Fernandez (born 11 August 1985) is a Sri Lankan actress, former model, and winner of the Miss Universe Sri Lanka pageant of 2006 . She primarily appears in Hindi films. Jacqueline Fernandez was born on 11 August 1985, in Manama, Bahrain, and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Her father, Elroy Fernandez from Sri Lanka, is a Burgher. Kim Fernandez is of Malaysian descent and Canadian descent. Her paternal grandfather is Canadian and her paternal great grandparents hail from Goa, India. Fernandez was in a music video for "O Sathi", a song by the music duo Bathiya and Santhush. In 2009, Fernandez traveled to India to model for an assignment. Fernandez was a successful audition for Sujoy Ghosh's fantasy film Aladin (2009), her first acting role. She was the love interest of Riteish Deshmukh's character, a role inspired by the character of Princess Jasmine. In 2017 Fernandez has invested Rs35 million (US$490,000) in Rakyan Beverages' Raw Pressery. Fernandez was ranked 12th in the UK magazine Eastern Eye’s "World's Sexiest Asian Women" list in the years 2008 and 2011. Fernandez was ranked third on The Times of India's list of the "Most Desirable Women" in 2013 and 2014. She had previously being placed eighth, seventh, and 14th, respectively, during the preceding three years. Rediff.com named her one of "Bollywood's Most Dressed Actresses" in 2013. According to the company, Fernandez is India's first celebrity who has part-financed a consumer goods firm with this investment.
