Sheryl Crow Biography

Sheryl Suzanne Crow was born in Kennett (Missouri) on February 11, 1962. She was the daughter of Wendell Crow and Bernice Crow. Two of her older sisters, Kathy, and Karen are her parents. Steve is her younger brother. Crow was a child musician who started playing piano at age 6and graduated from Kennett High School in 1980 and the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1984, where she majored in music education. She would perform on weekends with Cashmere, a local band during college. Crow released the album Sheryl Crow in 1996. She was awarded Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album and the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. Crow was busy in 1997 and 1998 touring, appearing at select dates of the Rolling Stones Bridges to Babylon Tour as well as performing at the 1998 Lilith Fair concerts. In 1998, she released The Globe Sessions. It won the Grammy Award for the Best Rock Album. Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter known all-around musical expertise and for her edgy pop tracks, like "All I Wanna Do" (1993), " If It Makes You Happy" (1996) and "Strong Enough" (1996). Crow is the daughter of a piano player and trumpeter. She received a University of Missouri at Columbia degree in voice and piano.
