Kristin Landen Davis Bio

Davis was born in Boulder Colorado. As an only child Her parents divorced when she became a baby. Her stepfather adopted her professor Keith Davis, after he married her mother, Dorothy an academic data analyst, in 1968. She was blessed with three half sisters from her father's previous marriage. She moved with her parents to Columbia, South Carolina early in her life. Her father was the provost at Columbia and she teaches psychology at The University of South Carolina. Davis was an actor in the production of the community theater of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the age of 10. Davis resided in South Carolina until she graduated from A.C. Flora High School in 1983. Then, she moved to New Jersey, where she was a student at Rutgers University. In 1987, Davis received a bachelor's from Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts. Davis graduated in 1987, and then moved to New York where she worked as a waitress and later opened the yoga studio she had with a friend. In 1995, she got her 'big break', landing the role of Brooke Armstrong Campbell on Melrose Place. After one year, producers discovered that viewers didn't like her character , and she left the show. Davis also had roles in other shows on television, including Friends, Will and Grace and Seinfeld. Davis was chosen in 1998 to play Charlotte York in Sex and the City. She remained an integral element of the cast until the show's ended in 2004. For her role in the last season she was nominated for an Emmy.
