Padma Lakshmi Bio
Padma Parvati Lakshmi, a daughter of Padma Parvati Lakshmi, was born in Chennai, India, on September 1st 1970. Lakshmi lost her parents when she was just 2 years old. Her mother emigrated to America to avoid the stigma of India. Lakshmi was a resident for two years with her grandparents in Chennai prior to her move to the United States. Her parents divorced later and she has a younger half brother and half sister from her father. Lakshmi is a descendant of the Hindu goddess of prosperity and wealth, and she was raised in New York City and Los Angeles. Her family visited her in India several times a year, and then returned for a few months. Padma Lakshmi started acting in 1999. Her first movie part was in Figlio di Sandokan (an Italian pirate film). Then, she played a role in 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers) which is a period drama about 17th century pirates. In 2001, she was host of Italy's highest-rated television show, 'Domenica in. She played a funny supporting role as disco-singing singer in a film called 'Glitter. Padma has a son, Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell with Adam Dell. Adam Dell is a venture capitalist. Krishna was born on February 20 in 2010. She also got married to Teddy Forstmann who is the former chairman and CEO of IMG. Lakshmi has a son with American venture capitalist Adam Dell. Although she had initially kept her identity and whereabouts of her child's father a secret, Lakshmi revealed that he was Dell. The girl said to her daughter, "Everything is better when she's there."
