Hennessy was born on November 25, 1968. She is a Canadian singer, actress and
musician. Her roles on American television shows Law & Order were
three-seasons long. Crossing Jordan lasted six seasons. Jordan Cavanaugh was
her leading character. She also appeared in films like RoboCop 3 (most wanted)
and Crossing Jordan (which she also wrote and directed). Hennessy was born in
Edmonton. John Hennessy, her father was a meat salesman as well as a
marketing/sales executive. His work required a lot of travel, which led to
numerous relocations for the family. Maxine, Maxine's secretary mother had to
leave the family in 1982. Eleanor, Eleanor's paternal grandmother, looked after
her daughter, who lived in Kitchener. John Paul Hennessy Jr. is her younger
brother. Jacqueline Hennessy is her identical twin sister. Jacqueline is a
magazine writer in Canada. Hennessy has Irish, French, Swedish and Italian
roots from her father's side and mostly Ukrainian Roma, as well as Austrian,
ancestry on her mother's. After graduating from Grand River Collegiate
Institute (both in Kitchener), she was a student at Stanley Park Senior Public
School. She also busked on the Toronto subway. Hennessy along with her sister
and her first performance was as twin call-girls in 1988's Dead Ringers.
Gillian Anderson, Gillian Anderson's sister, stated that she was shortlisted in
The X-Files for Dana Scully's role. Hennessy also played the role as Dr. Marie
Lazarus on RoboCop 3. In 1993 Dick Wolf signed Hennessy to play the role of
Claire Kincaid assistant district attorney on Law & Order. The role ran
for three seasons. The show ended after 1996.
