Thora Birch

Thora Birch (born March 11 1982) is an American actor and producer. Her film debut was in Purple People Eater (1988) in which she was awarded the Young Artist Award for "Best Young Artistress Under Nine Years of age". Birch was a child actor who appeared in movies like All I Want For Christmas (1991) and the Patriot Games(1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (94), Now and Then (1995) as well as Alaska (1996). The actress received a Young Artistic Award for "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years Old." In 1999, Birch played Jane Burnham in American Beauty. This film was a huge success and earned her an BAFTA nomination. Birch then appeared as Enid in the cult hit Ghost World (2001), getting a nomination to the Golden Globe for Best Actress. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for her performance as the lead character in Homeless to Harvard The Liz Murray Story. Birch has also been a part of Dungeons & Dragons (2000) (2001), The Hole (2004), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009). Birch played the role of Whisperer Mary/Gamma during season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was the eldest of children born to Jack Birch (and Carol Connors) in Los Angeles. Birch was born into a family that originally had the surname Biersch is German-Jewish as well as Scandinavian. Birch also is French-Canadian French-Canadian and Italian heritage. [6] Her name, "Thora," originates from the Norse god of lightning and thunder "Thor" and would be her name were she a boy. Kian Bolt Birch Her younger brother, is also her mother. Both were adult film actors and were both in Deep Throat. Based on their own experiences in the entertainment field it was difficult for them initially to encourage Thora. However, Thora's image was shown to agents when a babysitter spotted her fake commercials. Birch was given her first major break at four, when the babysitter accompanied her to an audition for the Quaker Oats commercial.
