Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was the younger daughter
and media producer, mogul, Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. She has an
older sister, Kidada Jones, as well as five half-siblings from the other
relationships her father has with his children. Her father is African American
and her mother Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant emigrants from Russia as well as
Latvia). Rashida was educated in Reform Judaism. She was born in Bel Air, Los
Angeles. Jones has revealed of her multi-racial parentage, "It was the
1970s and it's not even that acceptable to have them together." Jones
began her professional acting debut with The Last Don in 1997 A mini-series

Jones III was present in the introduction and recited the lines from Shakur's
poem "Starry Night." The poem is the inspiration for the song's
title. Rashida's dad is African-American and has lesser amounts of English,
Scottish, and Welsh ancestral family ancestry (some of his African ancestors
were from the Tikar people of Cameroon). Rashida's mother, Ashkenazi Jewish (of
Russian Jewish heritage as well as Latvian Jewish heritage), is Rashida. Her
paternal grandparents were of South Carolina and Mississippi, respectively. Her
maternal grandfather is from New York and her maternal grandmother was of
Eastern European Jewish descent, was born in Dublin, Ireland. Since the end of
2009, she was playing three characters under the name "Karen" on cult
classic television comedies (Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella (2005) and The
Office (2005)).
