Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston), an executive director for national operations at Mary
Kay, and Freddie Wright, a pharmaceutical executive. She was born in San Diego,
California. She started her professional career as a model in the year 1980 at
age 14, and worked both in Paris as well as Japan. After high school, she made
the choice to become an actor. She was cast on the soap show Santa Barbara
(1984), for which she was nominated three times for a Daytime Emmy. The first
season of the show she began to fall in love with co-star Dane Witherspoon,
whom she married in the year 1986. She was the princess bride (1987) in the
role of the title. She was cast as Santa Barbara but left to be a part of
Denial (1990) together with Jason Patric. In 1990, she was playing the role of
State of Grace (1990), where she was introduced to actor Sean Penn, by whom she
had a daughter named Dylan Frances, and a son named Hopper Jack. Robin returned
to Hollywood following a break, and landed one of her most memorable roles:
Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was absolutely stunning and amazing. In the
following film, she appeared Toys (1992), alongside Robin Williams. She gave a
hilarious performance. In 1994, Wright was in the blockbuster sensation Forrest
Gump (1994), together with Tom Hanks. She received a nomination for the Golden
Globe Award in recognition of her performance as Jenny. She was offered a small
part in The Crossing Guard (1995) which starred Jack Nicholson. After having
turned down 14 roles she was cast in the title role of MGM/UA's Moll Flanders
(1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman and Stockard
Channing. Next, she starred with William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s Loved (1997).
