Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actress also a
director, actor, and musician. She has directed numerous episodes of TV and
film, including Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). She was also
co-producer and Co-EP on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018). She is currently
working on two pilots currently in development. Milena was chosen as one of
eight directors for AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. Her short
film and TV series proof-of-concept called Unspeakable with Laura Vandervoort
and Jeff Kober, was screened at its World Premiere at SXSW and was awarded the
Best Episodic Award at the Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot
at the SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017 written
by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the US. It won the Best
Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta
ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also presented at the Sedona
International Film Festival. Milena has been in over 100 television episodes
acting as an actress. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey
(2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me
(2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) is a Dick Wolf series, was her
second big role. This led to her being the Emmy-winning woman detective in Law
& Order (1990). K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010)(CBS); Make
It or Break It (2009) [ABC Family]; and Lori Stevens (MTV Drama Finding Carter
(2014). Milena has also been featured in numerous films, including Sordid
Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011) which starred alongside Steve Guttenberg;
Pass the Light (2015) as well as #Lucky Number (2015) with the lead with Method
Man; and the features Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner
(2021). Milena is a native of Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian of her
high school, before she graduated with a double major vocal performance and
premed at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was also valedictorian of her
high school. She utilized her ballet classical education shortly thereafter to
make her Broadway debut in the Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production
"Cabaret" at Studio 54.
