Naomi Watts

Watts (born 28 September 1968) is the British actor from Britain. She made her
film debut in Australia in For Love Alone (1986) and was followed by three TV
series: Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (911) and Home and Away (1991) and
Flirting (1991). Watts made the move to America in the year 2000. She struggled
initially as an actress. In reality, she was only able to get small roles in
films before becoming an actress of the future in David Lynch's Mulholland
Drive psychological thriller. Her rise to global fame was triggered by this
part. Watts was a depressed journalist in The Ring, a horror film remake. Her
performance as a mother with grief in Alejandro's 21 Grams (2003) was nominated
for the Academy Award. Watts' star power increased as she starred in I Heart
Huckabees (2004). King Kong (2006), Eastern Promises ((2007)) and The
International (2009). Watts received nominations for an Academy Award for Best
Actress for her role in The Impossible (2012) as Maria Bennett. In the decade
of 2010 she was a part of such films as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014),
While We're Young (2015), The Glass Castle (2017), and Luce (2019). Watts kept
her acting career going through film roles that were blockbusters, like in
Divergent (2015-2016).
